What are pityriasis rosea symptoms and signs?

Most people do not notice any symptoms with pityriasis rosea except for the appearance of the rash itself. Mild, intermittent itching is reported in about 50% of individuals affected, especially when people exercise or take hot showers. Itching seems to increase with stress. Rarely, it is accompanied by flu-like symptoms, such as sore throat, fatigue, nausea, aching, and decreased appetite. Most people are otherwise in very good health and don't feel any other symptoms.

I have rashes on my hand and legs. Most of the rashes are below the elbow of my hand and on my thigh. On my thigh the rashes are red but on my hand the rashes are of skin color. I have done the check up and the doctor diagnosed it as pityriasis rosea. I have also used the drug prescribed by the doctor, Dipgenta cream and Levocet tab 5mg. I used the medicine and the rashes disappeared leaving the marks of the rashes, but again the rashes have reappeared.

I had a number of herald patches, then other rash spots occurred. At its peak I had much itching, which was treated with prednisone. I guess what makes mine a little unusual is my age and that I have had it for 5 months. In late summer when I first showed symptoms there was no rash on my arms or legs. When I started wearing long pants and shirts I developed rash on my arms and legs also. I am about 90% rash free at this time.
