Comment from: 45-54 Female (Patient) Published: June 01

I am a 50 year old female and I've suffered from canker sores all of my life. They became very frequent over the past two years to the point where there was rarely a time when my whole mouth wasn't broken out in sores. I noticed that I had a huge break out after I had eaten walnuts and almonds. I have always eaten peanut butter as well. I stopped eating nuts and have had almost no sores except for two small mild ones in the past two months. I recommend that if you are eating nuts including peanut butter or peanuts, give them up for a month and see how you do.

I've used a product called Canker Cover for my canker sores. It looks like a pill, and you stick it on the sore. It forms a gel bandage that lasts for hours and protects the sore and stops it from hurting. My canker sore was gone in one day when I used it.
