Patient Comments: Bursitis - Diagnosis

What led to a diagnosis of bursitis?

Comment from: Susan, 65-74 Female (Patient) Published: May 01

I have arthritis in my knees and back, but recently have had burning pain on the outside of my hips and can't sleep on my side, as it's too painful. I went to the doctor this morning and he diagnosed bursitis. He has given me some gel to try first, and said if it doesn't get better he will give me a steroid injection. I sympathize with all who suffer pain, as I know how debilitating it can be. I have tried many different painkillers, but all have side effects that don't agree with me. I'm now just taking paracetamol.
